What Chad did
Three phases from assessment through sustained growth tracking.
- GEO audit of existing rocketroom.co.uk
- Content optimization for AI search visibility and traditional SEO
- Technical foundation improvements (schema markup, metadata, performance)
- GA4 implementation and channel tracking configuration
- Site updates deployed to production
- Enhanced AI citability features activated
- Session and event tracking confirmed operational
- Weekly traffic monitoring and channel attribution analysis
- ChatGPT traffic quality assessment and behavioral pattern tracking
- Enquiry form tracking, as the first step towards measuring bookings
- Ongoing content refinement based on engagement signals
Unlike one-time traffic spikes, this was consistent month-over-month growth across the entire summer period — traffic more than doubled and held those gains through September.
Three-month traffic growth
June 2026 (baseline) vs. September 2026 (latest month) — sustained growth across the summer.
Three-month total (July–September 2026): 6,805 sessions, 4,475 new users, 11,205 pageviews.
Where the growth came from
Channel-by-channel growth, June → September 2026.
Organic Search accounted for 48% of September traffic (1,512 of 3,155 sessions).
ChatGPT — from almost nothing to a visible, high-quality channel
Three months (July–September 2026). ChatGPT sessions grew 614% and showed the strongest engagement of any major channel.
ChatGPT visitors stayed on the site longer than the site average, bounced at 35% (the lowest bounce rate of any channel with 100+ sessions in September), and engaged at 67.5% vs. the 55.5% site average. This isn't just growth — it's better traffic.
September 2026 — channel-by-channel quality comparison
All channels with ≥90 sessions in September. ChatGPT shows the strongest engagement and lowest bounce rate despite being one of the smaller channels.
| Channel | Sessions | Engagement | Avg. Session | Bounce Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Organic Search | 1,512 | 57.9% | 4m 09s | 42.1% |
| Direct | 653 | 55.3% | 3m 08s | 44.7% |
| Paid Social | 500 | 59.8% | 1m 04s | 40.2% |
| Referral | 157 | 51.6% | 2m 50s | 48.4% |
| Paid Search | 138 | 54.3% | 1m 46s | 45.7% |
| AI Assistant (ChatGPT) | 100 | 65.0% | 3m 52s | 35.0% |
| Organic Social | 94 | 69.1% | 2m 13s | 30.9% |
ChatGPT visitors stayed 3.6× longer than Paid Social traffic (3m 52s vs 1m 04s) and bounced at 35% — the lowest of any channel with 100+ sessions. AI traffic isn't just growing; it's demonstrably higher quality than paid channels.
What we don't know yet
Honest caveats about this data.
GA4 started tracking in April 2026, so there is no year-over-year comparison available. We're looking at three months of sustained growth, but we can't compare to the same period last year.
Booking conversion tracking is not yet implemented. We can see when visitors start an enquiry form, but we cannot yet measure completed bookings or revenue attribution by channel. That's the next phase of tracking to implement.
